I would like to acknowledge my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me.
I was a great sufferer for many years, and tried every remedy known to materia medica, and also many others which doctors would scoff at, as I did not want to leave anything untried to get relief. I had some of the best physicians here and in other places, allopathic, homœopathic, osteopathic, and eclectic. I tried three different mineral springs and went to Colorado, thinking the climate there would help me. I had two operations for tuberculosis without any relief. I suffered for over twelve years with neuralgia and was frequently confined to my bed for days, my only relief coming from the use of morphine. I have had the doctor three times a day to give me a hypodermic injection of morphine. The pain was so intense that at times I thought I would go insane. I was bilious and constipated; had severe night sweats, and would only get a few hours of sleep.
I had given up all hope of getting well when we were persuaded to try Christian Science. I had no faith in it, not knowing what it was, but had nothing else to turn to.
