It was early in January, 1899, that I first became interested in Christian Science, through the healing of a friend. This healing, which seemed very wonderful to me, made me long to know what the power was that had wrought the cure. A copy of Science and Health was lent me for a fortnight, but after reading for a few days, I felt so sure that I had found Truth, that I eagerly purchased a copy of my own. Though I had always enjoyed good health, and did not seek Christian Science for physical healing. I soon had opportunities for proving the statements in the book, and to my great joy was able to overcome various ailments for myself, my family, and others. Influenza, bilious attacks, chronic rheumatism, measles, mumps, and sprained wrist, have all been quickly overcome by the truth that makes us free. I have had the benefit of class instruction and feel deeply grateful to my teacher and all who have helped me to walk in the "strait and narrow way." My earnest desire is to be faithful to what I already understand and so be fitted to receive more. I know that this is the only way to show my gratitude to God for giving us the revelation of Himself in Science and Health through His faithful servant, Mrs. Eddy.
