About a year ago I heard of Christian Science, and I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings which it has brought to me and my family.
I was then suffering with an obstinate spinal disease which always caused me pain when I was working. All possible means were tried to relieve the trouble, but in vain, and I finally became unable to work. Being a believer in the so-called natural method of healing, I was treated by a noted physician of that school. For four weeks I took daily the most complicated steam and incandescent light baths, each of which cost nearly five francs. Yet even this was of no avail. I felt no better. The physician spoke of paralysis of the spinal marrow and I became afraid of my future; but man's extremity is God's opportunity.
I then heard of Christian Science, but I confess that I could not believe in it. I was, however, willing to be convinced, and attended a Christian Science Sunday service which made such an impression upon me that I felt the desire to go to their next Wednesday meeting. This was a testimonial meeting. After I had listened to several testimonies my doubts were removed. Joyfully I went to a practitioner the following morning, told her of my trouble, and asked her to give me treatment immediately. After two weeks I felt better, and after four weeks' treatment I was healed. When I am working very hard, I feel now and then a very slight touch of my old trouble, but as soon as I have rested a little, it always disappears. God be praised for His mercy!
