Several years ago in an hour of great despair, Christian Science was presented to me by a loving member of my immediate family, who has been investigating and pondering the subject. I was immediately receptive of this blessed truth. Divine Love fed "the famished affections" (Science and Health, p. 17) and gave the strength and the guidance needed to overcome the waning of the material senses against the spiritual facts of existence.
Old claims of sin have been reduced to their native nothingness. The evil of intemperance left me by the reading of Science and Health, and I was healed in ten days of the cigarette habit. This latter habit had been with me for over fifteen years and was a great stumbling-block to my spiritual growth. The earnest desire to be freed from this enslavement led me to put my case in the hands of a practitioner, and thus error was completely destroyed through the understanding that God's child could not sin. Christian Science has enabled me to live a purer life, it has made me willing to work for God, to help others when they are willing to be helped, and above all, it has made me grateful for my many blessings, and has shown me that gratitude must be expressed.
Everything I possess to-day—health, harmony, love, countless blessings—has come through Christian Science.
