I desire to express my deep gratitude to God for what Christian Science has done for me. Having been for many years a great sufferer from asthma and bronchitis, and finding no relief from doctors, I felt so weak and depressed that I thought it would be necessary for me to give up my occupation. I also had a strong belief that, as my father and mother had suffered from the same complaint, I could not hope for any relief. During my weakness and depression I had recourse to occasional doses of stimulants, to sustain my vitality, till at last I found that the habit was getting a very strong hold upon me. My notice was then attracted by the announcement of a lecture by Judge Hanna at the Queen's Hall, which I attended, and was so impressed that I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. After reading it for a short time I was led to go to a practitioner for treatment. I received my first treatment on Tuesday, and went again the following Thursday. On the Monday following I called upon the practitioner to tell him, with great and deep joy, that I required no more treatment, as I was perfectly healed; my breathing was entirely normal, and I felt strong and well,—a new man,—and that all taste and desire for stimulants had left me during the treatment.
I have received much good from reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and I now see that whereas I depended in the past upon mortal mind. I now believe that God, the divine Mind, has healed me and will keep me till the end.— London, England.
