I had been a sufferer for eleven years with what materia medica termed distressing nervous and stomach troubles and attendant complications. During this time I was under the constant care of the most able physicians, and had lived in California by their advice; but I failed to obtain health until, after having given up all possible hope, Christian Science was mentioned to me, not by a Scientist but by a Jewish lady who was visiting us at the time. I acted on the suggestion, although I did not feel as if anything could be done for me, owing to the fact that I was of Jewish faith and therefore Science was not an easy matter for me to consider, my family and social environment being such as to discourage the idea. However, I am thankful that Christian Science was brought to my attention, and I accepted it as it is, the light of my life. Whenever difficulties arise, the darkness is dispelled and presently all is light to me. Never for a moment could I get along without the use of Christian Science. I apply it in my home, business, and social life, and to me it is true happiness. Inasmuch as I had given materia medica a fair and impartial trial, I feel more and more justified in tendering this testimonial to the efficacy of Christian Science.
I cannot find words to express my gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for the blessings I have received through her wonderful teaching. May God bless all those who have been interested in showing me the way to health and happiness. I also wish to say that I had been a heavy smoker for thirty years, but the desire to indulge this habit has left me. , Chicago, Ill.
