Between two and three years ago, I lay upon my bed helpless, my right hand, arm, shoulder, and neck being seemingly powerless. In my extremity I called in a Christian Science practitioner, and in that first treatment I was raised from the bed, healed of the disease. Within a week bowel trouble of many years' standing was also overcome. Excruciating rheumatic pain did not leave me at once, but would come and go. This continued for about ten weeks, when the pain suddenly left me. Since this first healing I have had many beautiful demonstrations. A serious throat trouble was healed in one treatment, an attack of acute lung trouble was healed in four treatments, besides many other ailments which seemed to come to me in my battle with the "flesh and the devil" (evil); but, thanks to Christian Science, these have all been overcome by the truth as taught in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
My healing was a great revelation to many persons here, where I had been known as an invalid for over seventeen years, and I had never been a well woman even before coming to California from the East. Up to the time I was healed in Christian Science I had never had a church home, but after finding the truth I was glad to become a member of the church. I consider my physical healing very beautiful, but it is as nothing compared to the sweet peace and harmony I have gained through the study of the Bible and Science and Health; for all of which I thank our dear heavenly Father, our blessed Saviour, Christ Jesus, and the prophet of this age, Mrs. Eddy.
