Sincere gratitude impels me to acknowledge, at least in some measure, the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. In February, two years ago, Christian Science found me in a pitiful condition. My buoyancy was completely gone and I felt wretched physically and mentally, but man's extremity is God's opportunity. When despair had reached its climax with me I heard of Christian Science. A dear Scientist took up treatment for me, and in a few weeks I felt very much better. The operation which the physicians had urged me to undergo became unnecessary, and I kept improving slowly but steadily.
I was thankful indeed, for I had submitted to a severe operation four years before without being helped permanently, and the pain had never disappeared entirely. Besides a severe uterine affection, I suffered much with rheumatism as well as with a bronchial difficulty, and would often lie in bed helpless for weeks or mouths at a time. I had taken many kinds of baths without getting permanent relief. When the weather was stormy and the air raw, I could not go out without being visited immediately by one of these tormentors. It was a great source of worry for me, as I was very often kept from attending to my work. Today, however, I feel new life within me and am refreshed both physically and mentally, and new courage and joyfulness in my work have returned, such as I have not known for years.
I have had so many splendid demonstrations in the past two years of the ever-present love and omnipotence of our heavenly Father that it would take too much space to tell about all my blessings. I wish most sincerely that the understanding of this truth might come to all people. I prize the peace of mind and inward harmony which I have gained through this glorious teaching much more than the physical healing, and I wish all might experience it.
