INSPIRATION

From the July 1911 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way" (Science and Health, p. 454).

'Tis Love inspires! the Love that blesses all,—
That clothes the lily, marks the sparrow's fall,
And wakes the suff'ring sense from error's thrall.
'Tis Love inspires!

'Tis Love illumines! Mark its steadfast beam,
Lighting each hill and vale and surging stream,
Through somb'rest night a never failing gleam.
'Tis Love illumes!

Love designates! Behold the path thus trod!
A straight and narrow way that leads to God!
To comfort thee, His staff; to bless, His rod.
Love designates!

Love leads the way! Triumphant o'er earth's ills,
Onward and upward to th' eternal hills,
Faith's song, exultant, every sorrow stills.
Love leads the way!
