About three years ago I was attacked with what was diagnosed as spinal meningitis, and after suffering from this for five months it was found that my spine had become shortened two inches, which drew my head backward so that I was unable to raise it. My father had five of the most prominent physicians to treat me. but no one was able to bring my head to its natural position. I then had the X-ray treatment for two months, which helped but did not cure me. After this we tried change of climate, but all to no effect.
While away from home I was suddenly taken with paralysis, which the doctors said came on from the head being in this position, and that another attack would follow. It did, and about six months later the third stroke came on. The doctors all said that this last would prove fatal. About this time we were ready to try Christian Science, and we called for a practitioner. When she came to me I was unable to move myself, but after two treatments I was able to walk across the floor with my mother's help. In five days I was up and about; I was my own self again. My head is now in a normal position and I feel as well as I ever did. My former physicians say it is wonderful that I am living after this ordeal.
