The thankfulness of a friend for healing in Christian Science so much impressed me that in my hour of great need I went to a practitioner for help. In the first treatment I was healed of chronic sleeplessness, and established in the moral courage and strength of Christian Science. I also received new hope, peace, and harmony, and enjoyed reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy better than anything else.
By continued treatment, chronic female trouble, fainting spells, severe bronchial coughs and colds, and a heart difficulty, have all been permanently healed, and for the first years in my life all the other organs have been carrying on their work in a more normal way. At another time, through my own slight understanding gained from the study of Christian Science, a severe attack of illness was broken up in a few hours. Again, while receiving treatment for rheumatism in my arms, I was healed of a serious ailment in three days, and am happy to say that the rheumatism was also entirely destroyed, which meant a great deal to me as a teacher of the piano. Later, with the aid of a practitioner, I was perfectly healed of acute lung trouble. While in this seemingly serious condition I was able to attend to all of my out-of-town business in cold and stormy weather without any fear or loss of any kind.
I am truly grateful for this wonderful truth about God and man which our loving Leader has taught us in Christian Science. I thank God with all my heart for these many proofs of His protecting care and readiness to save and heal, and for the moral courage, light, and comfort which Christian Science brings into our lives. I am especially thankful for the spirit of Christian love, patience, and faithfulness which accompanies and accomplishes this Christ-healing work.— Newton, Mass.
