It is now over a year since I became interested in Christian Science. When I look back on that time, it makes my heart rejoice, and I praise God for all the blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science and the understanding gained therefrom. I became interested in this truth first of all through a brother in British Columbia, who had written to me about this time,telling how he had been healed of a very severe form of rheumatism through Christian Science. I was very much interested, and as I was then suffering from enfeebled eyesight, I resolved to know more of this wonderful religion. I became acquainted with a practitioner through a friend of whom I made inquiry. I took treatment immediately, and after two weeks was completely healed. I left off my glasses and have never needed them at any time since.
I had been told by an eye specialist that he could do very little for me. As I was suffering so much from eye strain, however, with a doctor's advice he supplied me with glasses;but after I had worn them for one year they proved of little use to me. I became very much discouraged, but just then I learned of Christian Science, and words cannot express my gratitude to God for this healing truth. Since then I have had some smaller demonstrations, one in particular which I wish to mention here.
I had from childhood suffered more or less from biliousness, which all the time seemed to be growing worse. I tried different doctors with the hope of getting relief, but they all failed to help me. I took treatment in Christian Science, and after a few weeks the trouble was entirely overcome. It just slipped away, as it were;I was surprised to find myself partaking of almost everything on the table without any fear of being sick. Before this time, when taking even a short railway journey, I would become car sick; but this too has passed away.
