I wish to express my deep gratitude...

From the August 1914 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to express my deep gratitude for the blessings I have received through Christian Science. I had a religious training and was a church-member from my girlhood, but in my Bible study I often wondered why we could not be healed in our day as people were in the time of our Lord. When I got the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, my questionings were answered, and I could see that here lay the help I had been wanting for a long time. During the past twelve years the study of this book has been most blessed to me; it has unfolded the Scriptures beautifully, and healing, both for myself and members of my family, has been experienced many times.

Many years ago, in Queensland, I was attacked with hay-fever. I was a great sufferer from this for eighteen years; every season it got worse, but I am thankful to say it has been healed, with many other ailments, and I am in the best of health. The spiritual uplift is, however, the greatest treasure. I know now what our Lord meant when he said, "Watch . . . lest ye enter into temptation," and "The kingdom of God is within you." With the right concept of God as ever-present good, what have we to fear? I can truthfully say that all fear of disease has been completely banished from my consciousness, and I can rejoice in the liberty wherewith Christ makes us free. I thank our dear Leader for all her labor of love to give forth this grand truth as revealed to her.

During a visit in Boston I had the happy privilege of attending The Mother Church for about three months and of meeting many of Mrs. Eddy's early students, afterward visiting several of the Christian Science churches throughout the United States on my way home. I wish to express my thanks for all the kindness received from Scientists as I went from place to place.—
