I am glad to be able to tell the seekers after truth of the benefits which I have derived from Christian Science. For three years I have been an adherent of these teachings which were discovered and brought to the world by Mrs. Eddy. I had suffered for about six years with extreme nervousness, to which was added suffering from gall-stones that incapacitated me for work for a period of five months. I then heard of Christian Science, but could not at first make up my mind to turn to it, until my confidence increased through the results obtained in the case of acquaintances. This induced me to take the decisive step.
After having read Der Herold der Christian Science for some time, I asked for treatment in Christian Science, which was readily given. During a severe attack of gall-stone colic, I was treated by a practitioner who happened to be present. In ten minutes the trouble yielded to the power of Truth, leaving no sense of pain. After telling me that I need have no fear, the kind practitioner induced me to eat my supper as usual, and the next morning I was able to go to work well, and in a happy frame of mind. Formerly such attacks kept me in bed three or four days, while my nourishment consisted wholly of liquid food.
These proofs which were given me of the workings of divine Love, awakened the earnest desire in me to seek the truth, and I cannot be too grateful to God that I was led to discern it, for I have already found far more of good than I ever expected, and I know now that infinite, divine Love delivereth us from all error.
