Several years ago, when away from home, I was attacked by a severe pain, which was promptly diagnosed as appendicitis. My condition was considered so serious that I was urged to go to a hospital, but fear of surgical treatment induced me to adopt the advice of a good friend to try Christian Science. I therefore asked help of a practitioner, with the result that within a few minutes I was healed, all pain ceased, and I was able to walk to the hotel.
At that time I knew nothing of Christian Science, but the next day I purchased my first copy of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I still have that copy, and it is one of my greatest treasures. Since my first healing I have received numerous evidences that, as our Leader says, "divine Love always lias met and always will meet every human need" (p. 494), and I am sincerely grateful for these blessings.— Chicago, Ill.
