A sense of love and thankfulness to God leads me to send this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me and for my family. I first became interested in this teaching through the healing of a friend. Then I began to read the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and soon the fact was plain to me that it was reasonable and beautiful, and the truth. Later I was called upon to prove this in the healing of physical disease. A few years ago a growth appeared on my breast; but it gave me no special trouble until December, 1914, when it became inflamed and painful. I applied to a practitioner for treatment, and through her clear understanding God's healing work was quickly done. There was a copious discharge, and then the swelling and pain entirely disappeared.
I have also been instantaneously healed of headache and dizziness. Our three children have never known any other means of healing. Our eldest daughter was quickly healed of diphtheritic sore throat and our boy of twelve years was instantaneously healed of an acute attack of bowel trouble. We are grateful not only for the physical healing, but even more for the spiritual uplift and sense of greater freedom and happiness gained from the study of Science and Health and the illumination given to the Scriptures by the same.
For all these blessings I am grateful to our loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through whose wonderful understanding of Life and its activities the world has been so richly blessed.— Mapleton, Minn.
