As a happy witness to the power of Truth I wish to tell every one of my healing from blood-poisoning, within a short time, through Christian Science. When the physician's skill was exhausted, I prayed in utter despair at first, and then with growing trust in God, for help,—and His help did come. Through some dear people I was gradually led to understand God; I read Christian Science literature, and my physical improvement was commensurate with my apprehension. The abscesses, which according to the physician's statement were liable to affect the heart, opened without any material means being employed, and the fever disappeared; in short, I became well and happy.
Since then my health has been excellent, and I feel freer and happier than ever before, though I have to watch my thought, as some minor error will constantly try to creep in. But does not our Leader say, "Love is not hasty to deliver us from temptation, for Love means that we shall be tried and purified" (Science and Health, p. 22)? I let this view prevail, while doing my best to overcome the errors which try to assert themselves, and my prayer is for purification and betterment.
Words fail to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science. My innermost desire is to make my actions and my whole life bear witness to this gratitude for my many blessings.—Wilderswil near Interlaken, Switzerland.
