This testimony is written with the hope that it may be of as much help to some sufferer as others' testimonies have been to me. After several physicians had pronounced my case incurable, I took treatment in Christian Science. At first I could not bear the thought of having this treatment, for I had not investigated the subject thoroughly and believed that Mrs. Eddy's teachings were not consistent with those of the Bible. Now I know they are consistent and beautiful. I had what is called misplaced viscera, and the least effort seemed beyond my strength. Surgeons who examined me said that an operation would be useless, and that my only relief would be to wear an abdominal support. Having been sick most of the time for twenty-five years and having undergone two operations, I felt discouraged.
Finally, as stated, I turned to Christian Science, and being some distance from a practitioner, I at first had absent treatment. As my strength returned I had a great desire to talk with the practitioner, and the morning after seeing her I took off the abdominal support. In the afternoon I told her what I had done, and she said the fact that I did not feel any need of the support showed the healing had been accomplished. The color came back into my face and I felt new life and vigor.
Since that time, October, 1913, I have traveled a great deal. When I attended a family reunion in Iowa, my brothers and sisters, also my friends, said they never saw me looking better. I am so thankful that we can apply this Principle to work out our every problem. It is indeed a privilege to be living in this day and age, when through the prayerful, patient efforts of a good woman the words and works of Christ Jesus are made the basis for a practical Christianity. I am truly thankful to God for Mrs. Eddy's spiritual interpretation of the Bible.—Albion, Idaho.
