I wish to state that everything my wife has mentioned when referring to her illness is correct. At first we thought it was acute rheumatism. Although she sometimes wandered in her mind about things around her, she always quoted Christian Science statements correctly, and she sang Mrs. Eddy's hymns day and night. Although a Christian Scientist myself, my faith was tested to the utmost. I asked my wife if she would see a doctor, but she refused, and the practitioner requested me not to send for one without informing her. I remained steadfast, although receiving great opposition from members of my wife's family.
I also wish to mention that two of our children, respectively three and five years old, have never had medical treatment in any shape or form. —
