I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings received through the efficacy of Christian Science. My interest in this teaching began five years ago while traveling with a theatrical company in the middle West. During these years I have seen its practicability demonstrated in many cases. I myself have been healed of the smoking and gambling habits. My wife was healed of chronic tubercular trouble through the study of Science and Health, after having been pronounced incurable by the doctors. The other members of my family have become reconciled to the study of Christian Science. The various publications are a source of great joy, besides being a continual unfoldment of spiritual truths. The preceding proofs surely justify my gratitude, which is unbounded.— New York, N. Y.
I am happy to verify my husband's testimony, and can say that mere words cannot express my gratitude for the understanding of God gained through the study of Christian Science. In 1909 I was pronounced incurable by doctors who said I had tubercular disease of the lungs. I was sent to Saranac Lake, New York, where I improved, but was told I could not live anywhere else. My funds gave out and I was forced to return to my home, where I gradually grew worse. Tired of being sick, without hope, I thought death was the only way out. Then a friend sent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I read a few pages, but was very antagonistic both to the book and to Mrs. Eddy. I put it aside for about a month, when through the pleading of my mother, who thought there must be some truth in it, I again began to read it and was healed absolutely in less than two months. Before knowing of Christian Science I always had a pain, had colds all winter, was in fear of everything. As my business was traveling, I have had doctors all over the United States, and they all said the same thing regarding my lungs. This is only one of the many beautiful blessings that have come to me through this wonderful study. I am deeply grateful.—
