In gratitude and thankfulness to God I give this testimony of healing. In January, 1916, I underwent a very serious operation for an internal trouble of long standing, gallstones, and appendicitis. After two weeks I was brought home and for some time was confined to my bed. Three or four months afterwards all the distressing symptoms reappeared, and I found that I was not cured, but on the contrary was much worse, not being able to stand or walk for more than ten minutes at a time. I went to several physicians but experienced no relief. I suffered from headaches that would last for three or four days at a time, sometimes being so severe that I began to fear for my reason, also from a chronic bowel trouble. I was getting desperate and knew that something must be done soon or I would die. Then Christian Science was brought to my notice, and I applied to a practitioner for treatment, although I had very little faith in its healing power. After a week's treatment there was a decided improvement. Many distressing troubles disappeared, among them a severe pain in my back which had never left me since the operation. In a few weeks I was entirely healed. A bad attack of ptomaine poisoning was overcome for me in one treatment, although internal soreness remained for two days. A serious case of measles was cured in two days for a member of my family, and I myself have been able to overcome many inharmonious conditions, both physical and mental, among them a skin disease and influenza.
For this great truth I am thankful to God and to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, also grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who labored long that we might know this truth which sets us free.— North San Diego, Cal.
