Testimonies of Healing

I have had so many healings...

From the September 1919 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I have had so many healings through Christian Science that I hardly know what to tell first. The one that stands out most clearly, however, was the overcoming of inflammatory rheumatism. I was stricken with this malady very suddenly, in what seemed to be its worst form. I had been studying and relying upon Christian Science for some time and so called a practitioner at once. The fever went so high and the pain was so intense that I was delirious at times; yet I knew that I was depending on God for my help. My fancy went back to Bible days, and it seemed to me that I must be carried over the hills of Judæa, for perhaps the Christ would not come my way. On voicing this I was told that I did not need to be carried anywhere, for the Christ is here now. It was said so firmly and with so much assurance that a feeling of peace came over me, and there was very little pain after that, just a seine of waiting on the Lord. In less than three weeks I came through the trial stronger and better, and more active, than I had ever been, and with a higher sense of God's loving protection and care. This is only one of many physical healings. I have been healed of chronic stomach and liver trouble, chronic malaria, and catarrh of the head and throat, of long standing; I have also been lifted above the fear of tubercular disease.

Besides the physical healings I have been freed from discord, sin, and sorrow. I was sustained through the illness and passing on of my dear mother, and can never thank God enough for the help I received during those trying times. For nine years I have relied upon Christian Science and it has never failed me. Trials still come, but when I earnestly and sincerely endeavor to see each one in the light of God's law, relief always comes, and there is ever that undercurrent of peace, that sense of the nearness of the All-Father. My whole desire is to know more of this truth and to help others to know it. I am so thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy and all others who have helped me, for the good I have received.

This testimony is given with the earnest desire that it may reach some waiting heart and help another as I have been helped so many times by the testimonies both in the periodicals and at the Wednesday evening meetings.—
