Since hearing of Christian Science three years ago, I have been instantly healed of appendicitis with the help of a friend, a practitioner not being available at the time, also of numerous other ills, including a serious condition of the eyes. I was wearing three pairs of glasses when I entered Christian Science, and was confronted with possible blindness. I have now needed none for three years. I also eat anything and all I wish, whereas formerly I was obliged to live chiefly on coddled eggs, buttermilk, and prunes. My physician, a specialist, said I never would be able to eat freely.
This autumn while in a disturbed and anxious mental state, I fell one morning on my way to an eight o'clock lecture and badly sprained my ankle, bruising the flesh and breaking a bone in the leg. I was helped into a house where a lady telephoned to a Christian Scientist friend of mine, asking in my name for help. Fifteen minutes later I was again on my way to school. I used the leg every day all that was necessary, and did not miss a single class. Two weeks later I had the leg examined by a specialist to make sure of the situation; he reported as stated above, saying the bone was splintered and in bad condition. Since then the leg has become normal, all discoloration has left, and the bone has straightened. The leg was not set or bandaged at any time.
While in a similar irritated mental state recently, I was thrown from an automobile, receiving an injury to the spine. A few weeks later inflammation set in; I was in severe pain and drawn over backwards, scarcely able to move about. Though the trouble was about two weeks disappearing, I asked for, and received, but one treatment.
