With a deep sense of gratitude I wish to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. When about fifteen years of age I began to have stomach and bowel trouble, for which medical treatment was resorted to for a number of years. During this time other complications presented themselves and I grew steadily worse. Then began the search for health, wherein I wandered from one kind of physician to another, including hydropathic, osteopathic, chiropractic, electric, hypnotic, and naturopathic treatment. I also gave much time and effort to physical culture, fasting, and change of climate. At the completion of this search for health, during which seventeen years had elapsed, I was not only a physical wreck but in a very serious mental condition. Christian Science had been offered to me on several occasions but was not accepted until this time, and, needless to say, man's extremity proved to be God's opportunity, for in three days I was healed. Words cannot express my gratitude for the radical change which took place in my life. Having been so accustomed to illness, health seemed like a dream which would soon vanish.
During the four years since Truth was revealed to me, I have traveled a different pathway, seeking to know more of God, good, and turning to the Bible and the writings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for every need. Class instruction has been my great privilege, for which I am deeply grateful. The Christian Science Monitor, bringing daily news, instruction, and healing, supplies me lavishly. For this and all the Christian Science literature I am indeed grateful and hope to prove my gratitude daily by living as closely as possible to Principle.— Portland, Ore.
