It is with heartfelt love and gratitude to God for His "wonderful works to the children of men" and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for having given the wonderful light of Truth to a sin-darkened world, that I pen these lines of testimony to the healing power of Christian Science.
In November, 1919, while working at a steam hammer, a pair of tongs was forcibly thrown between the dies, striking me and penetrating the left groin, inflicting a very serious injury. Being young in Science I submitted to surgical treatment and was rushed to a hospital where I underwent three operations, one of which included scraping the hip bone, necrosis having set in. At the, end of three months I was sent home able only to get about with the aid of crutches, and then only a few steps at a time.
Becoming dissatisfied with material means, I turned to Christian Science, and while the healing was apparently slow and fraught with discouragement, the demonstrations have been wonderful, among which was the removal of two pieces of clothing from the wound, the last of which was followed by perfect healing in four days, after eight and onehalf months of suppuration.
