Testimonies of Healing

I am very grateful that through...

From the July 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I am very grateful that through Christian Science, which has been in my home since I was four or five years old no seriously discordant condition has arisen to be overcome, although many minor manifestations of wrong belief have quickly yielded to the application of the truth. I am very grateful for the chastisements of divine Love which have recalled me to my post when at times the temptation has come to be lax in guarding my thoughts, and by these gentle reminders have made the direction of omnipotent wisdom once again apparent in every little detail of living.

When consistently adhered to, I have found the truth of Christian Science an unfailing protection, not only from such things as epidemics of disease, but also from the fears of mortal mind during the war. On one occasion the hospital ship on which I was working was struck by a mine or torpedo, but although an extra number of patients were on board, all were safely landed. Again. I was in a hospital which was the recipient of seven air bombs, but although the ward which I was in collapsed, those within it escaped without serious injury. I received a small scalp wound, but this healed perfectly in much less than the expected time.

While engaged in French relief work during the year following the war I was enabled through the War Relief Committee in Paris to distribute copies of Le Heraut to refugees, Der Herald to German prisoners working for us. Russian pamphlets to prisoners of that nationality, and many copies of the Monitor to our own workers, who received it with much appreciation. I myself am particularly grateful for the Monitor, which came to me regularly while I was on the Mediterranean and in France, and now comes to me in America, where I find its news from my home even more truly informing than the home papers themselves. Apart from its world-wide outlook and practical demonstration of Christian Science I find very often articles that are most useful in my college work here. It is indeed difficult to imagine what life would be without the knowledge I have gained of the truth that Mrs. Eddy has made plain again in this age.—
