I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me, and for the truth about God which Christian Science teaches. My first demonstration was at a time when every material remedy failed to heal me of a serious nervous breakdown, in which I had not only lost control of my nerves but was unable to attend to my light household duties or to walk any distance without suffering mental and physical exhaustion. While in this condition I finally found my way to the home of a Christian Science practitioner. After listening to a few words of the most reassuring doctrine I had ever had the privilege of hearing, a great burden was immediately lifted from my thought, and in less than a week I was not only free, but in a stronger and healthier condition than ever before. Since then this wonderful truth has overcome many varying discordant and physical conditions for me and other members of my family. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science and my only desire is to prove my gratitude by works.
I am thankful to God for this eversaving truth, and to Mrs. Eddy for her steadfastness in revealing it to this age. I am also grateful to the kind friends who have helped me and for the loving care of a practitioner who patiently worked for me and helped me to understand something of Christian Science by proving for me in my hour of need that "with God all things are possible."— Boston, Massachusetts.
