I have so often been helped by the testimonies given in the Journal and Sentinel that I send mine hoping that it may be a help to others. It is many years since I heard, through a friend, of Christian Science, and was asked to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I had for many years been a great sufferer as the result of an accident when abroad, my spine and head being badly injured. I was obliged to be on my back entirely for several years, although at the time that I heard of Christian Science I was able to walk a little, but was never free from pain. The many kind doctors who attended me both at home and abroad decided that I could never hope to be strong and that they could only help to relieve the pain. I read Science and Health very carefully, and realized on reading the chapter on Prayer that this was just what I had longed for—to be able to prove that all the promises in the bible as given by our Master are available now.
I had always loved the bible, and had received many answers to prayer. I read and studied Science and Health in conjunction with the Bible for three months, and tried to put into practice what I understood, and at the end of this time I was perfectly well. Since my first healing I have had three serious illnesses, two of which I was able to overcome through my own understanding of the healing truth; on the third occasion I asked a practitioner to help me, and in a very short time this illness was entirely overcome. I am most grateful for all the literature, which so often answers the very questions one would like to ask, and I am deeply grateful for all the spiritual help, as well as for the physical healing.— Dublin, Ireland.
