Christian Science is the greatest thing that can come into any one's life; it satisfies. The knowledge that Christian Science is the truth gives us a firm foundation and nerves every endeavor. I would like to mention a healing that always stands out as very wonderful. Over three years ago our bulldog was barking under a tree at a large cat, which slipped and fell on him. We separated them, but the next morning, noticing how very quiet the dog was we found one side of his head enormous and clotted with blood. He would not let us touch him to bathe it. The eyeball had been torn deeply by the cat's claw. My husband was terribly distressed and said. "It is past all human help; the eye is destroyed." I went to a practitioner, and asked her to help him which she did at once. For a week the eye seemed to get worse, and my husband said. "Can you honestly say you believe that eye will ever get right?" I said, "Yes for I am sure that 'with God all things are possible.'" Two days after, the tenth day from the accident, the eye was as perfect and beautiful as the other, and the sight perfect. As soon as treatment commenced the dog became happier and more playful and there seemed to be no suffering. Treatment was absent, and the eye was never even bathed with water.
With such a wonderful proof of God's power my husband could doubt no longer. We shall always be deeply grateful to the loving, faithful practitioner who helped us. There are many other healings and overcoming* I would like to tell of. Even when our belief in some error seems very tenacious, we know that it can be overcome if we are faithful, and what without Christian Science would be a source of great fear, is by Christian Science made another stepping-stone, and so really something to rejoice about. My great desire is to be obedient to the teachings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and so live nearer to God. Our periodicals, her inspired gifts to the world, are a great help.—London, England.
