In the spring of 1900 I visited a friend in New Jersey, and while there was seized with an acute pain, due to a growth in the breast which had for two years caused me much suffering and inconvenience, as I was at times unable to use my arm. On this particular day fear and despair seemed to overwhelm me. My friend coming to my room found me in tears and asked the reason; and on being informed of the serious condition I felt I was in, kindly sent for her next door neighbor, who was a Christian Scientist, knowing I had just begun looking into the subject. This neighbor came immediately and offered to take me to see a practitioner in the afternoon, to which I willingly and gladly consented. The practitioner calmly and patiently talked with me for about half an hour; and when I arose to leave for my friend's home I found all pain had vanished and the lump had disappeared. I was completely healed and there has never been any return of former conditions.
To realize one has been liberated from a great physical disease is cause for deep appreciation and joy, but it does not compare to knowing we have been brought into a keener desire for a closer walk with God. For this greatest of blessings I will never cease to be grateful to the practitioner who was the means of all this through her knowledge of divine law, gained from the teachings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, as found in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."— Passaic, N.
