Words cannot express my gratitude to God for Christian Science. I was in a most deplorable condition, physically as well as mentally, when Truth healed me.
About five years ago I was in a sanitarium for tuberculosis. I had been there eleven months, and was growing worse. In this hour of need a little understanding of Christian Science gave me courage to leave the sanitarium, in opposition to the doctor and others who cared for me, and to depend entirely on Truth for my healing. It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I remember the day after I left the sanitarium. I visited the Reading Room maintained by the local Christian Science church. There I met a practitioner, who promised to help me. Her patience and love were wonderful. A new life was revealed to me. Several weeks later I was able to work. I recall that many times, when young in Christian Science, I was terribly frightened, fearing the recurrence of the fevers and hemorrhages which I had experienced at the sanitarium after exertion of any kind. I am grateful to testify that Truth prevailed. I am doing more work now than I had been able to do for ten or fifteen years previous to my healing.
I am indeed most grateful to God and to Christian Science, not only for this and other physical healings, with the help of loving practitioners, but also for the peace of mind and the joy of learning to know God. I appreciate very much the spiritual understanding I have gained of the Bible through the study of Christian Science. Truth is my daily guide and ever present help.—Schenectady, N. Y.
