One night I awakened with intense suffering. I worked, as Christian Science teaches us, for myself until morning; while I grew no worse, I felt no better. About eight o'clock I called my father to help me; and for two hours or more it was a fight for life. I apparently went through every symptom of influenza during those two hours; and as each appeared it was thoroughly destroyed. I did not stop one moment from consciously declaring the truth; and though I was unable to hold a book, I had "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy beside me where I could read a line, and then repeat it many times. By eleven o'clock I was perfectly free from any manifestation of disease, but was too weak to get up. The next day I was up and able to walk twenty blocks. This experience proved to me that we do not need to go through a stage of convalescence. Not one ill effect resulted. This was undoubtedly a healing of extreme fear; and I am surely grateful for God's protection.— Ardmore, Okla.
