"NOW IS THE DAY"

From the March 1923 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There's but one time, there's but one place
The time is Now, the place is Here;
For all of good and all of grace
Are here and now, forever near,
To master fear, to vanquish ill,
The fount of fortitude unseal,
Dissolve the discords of self-will,
And Love's omnipotence reveal.

For Love divine and infinite
Is conscious of no lapse from grace:
Its purposes, in concord knit,
Ne'er fail creation to embrace.
And naught existing can e'er wrest
From Love one object of its care:
Not one escapes its high behest,
Or fails its vital rays to share.

For Love eternal never sleeps,
And ne'er its loving ward suspends:
Nor highest heights, nor deepest deeps
Its wondrous immanence forfends.
Its power and presence know no bar;
Nor direst darkness stays its beam:
Love's ever near, is ne'er afar;
And reigns eternally supreme.
