For ten years Christian Science has been my sole reliance, and it has freed me from all resort to medication, besides bringing to me the first satisfactory interpretation of the Bible and revealing God to me. At a time when the world is beset by many so-called mental cures, based on the carnal mind, I feel that my testimony should be given in proof of spiritual healing through Christian Science. This healing came when I sought help for chronic liver and bowel inactivity. An attack of appendicitis had left me a slave to pills and powders. Christian Science lifted me out of this bondage; and after three or four weeks' struggle with fear, the victory of Truth was complete.
A few months later, my first demonstration came when I was overcome by a severe sick headache. Picking up "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I read a few sentences from the chapter on Christian Science Practice. The light came. I realized the truth, and instantly was healed.
Other benefits include the cessation of winter attacks of tonsillitis, to which I had been subject for years; prompt relief from minor burns; the overcoming, in five minutes, of all pain from a finger which had been jammed in an automobile door; the permanent cure, in one night, of a structural thickening of the nasal passage, which made it impossible to breathe through the nose; and the laying aside of glasses. It may be of help to some one else relying on Christian Science to know that a sense of eyestrain did not leave for some time, because I held a latent belief that I might be forced to put the glasses on again. Finally, I faced the issue fairly, knowing that God could heal this condition, and that I need not resort to glasses. With this doubt cleared away, I had no further difficulty with my eyes. My clean-cut decision ended all sense of strain.
