TRUE LIVING

From the October 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If we but lived as Jesus lived,
How high our life would be
Above the mist and din of earth.
In sweet security.

If we but loved as Jesus loved,
How pure our thought must be,
No vagrant error finding place
To mar life's harmony.

If we but thought as Jesus thought,
How clear our aims must be,
Our every concept pure and true—
Cleansed from iniquity.

If we but had the Mind of Christ,
Seeing as God doth see,
Then we must know what Jesus taught—
The truth, that maketh free.

Thus, in our lives we would express
The reconciling grace
Of him who truly gave himself
To save the human race.
