I came to Christian Science about fourteen years ago for the healing of a skin disease known to the medical profession as butterfly lupus, after having doctored with various physicians and having had treatment from two very eminent skin specialists. I had also tried various lotions and medicines, finally resorting to X-ray treatment, but all to no avail. I was steadily growing worse, and was told that nothing more could be done for me. In my discouragement I turned to Christian Science and was healed. From the first treatment there was a decided improvement; and although the healing was slow, I am very grateful, for it made me study and cling closely to Truth.
Since then I have had many beautiful healings, some of them instantaneous. A case of grippe, with a temperature of one hundred and two, was healed in an hour, after we had asked for help from a practitioner. I was then able to rise and go about my usual duties. A badly sprained ankle was healed in forty-eight hours. Attacks of acute indigestion have been overcome; also swollen glands of the neck, for which I had submitted to two operations before coming into Christian Science. Soon after I took up the study of Christian Science this same condition appeared again in an aggravated form, and was healed in a few treatments.
In all these years Christian Science has been the only physician in our home, meeting every need, physical, mental, and financial. I am grateful to the loyal, faithful practitioners who have always responded lovingly to calls for help at all hours when the need seemed urgent. For all these blessings I am indeed grateful to God; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has given us this wonderful truth. I am grateful for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the various activities of the Christian Science movement, which our Leader has so wisely provided.— Albany, New York.
