In 1912, I was stricken with a serious nervous trouble. The condition became so much worse in the course of a year that I lost all desire to live. I suffered unspeakably, and my whole family suffered with me. I was most lovingly surrounded by dear ones, and all wished to aid me; but nothing helped me and nothing cheered me any more. I wanted only to die. However, upon the advice of my family I visited various baths and sanitariums. The doctor whom I consulted at home expressed the opinion that this terrible condition would last two more years. Man's extremity is, however, God's opportunity; for while I was in this distressful condition my attention was called to Christian Science by a friend. The thought of finding my freedom urged me to go immediately to Hannover, where I called upon a Christian Science practitioner, who made me acquainted with this wonderful teaching and took up treatment for me. I was not disappointed, for I learned to understand that only God and His idea are real and true, and that sickness is an error, which my state of health confirmed. From that time on I have been as well and healthy as formerly.
For my wonderful healing I am deeply grateful to God, our almighty Father, to Christ Jesus, and also to Mary Baker Eddy, the wise and noble Discoverer and Founder of this wonderful Science. May I express my most sincere gratitude by learning more and more to demonstrate God and His truth in my daily life.— Bösdorf, Kr. Gardelegen, Germany.
