It is over five years since I became interested in Christian Science, and during that time I have had many proofs of the power of Truth to overcome error of every sort. The first healing I had was over a condition for which I had undergone two major operations but was little bettered thereby. I had been told by physicians, medical, surgical, and osteopathic, that the diseased condition would remain as long as I lived, but that by careful dieting and treatment I might lessen the pain and discomfort. This condition was very readily healed by Christian Science, and I have since paid no special attention to diet, eating whatever I desire. It is now over five years since I took off glasses, which I had worn continually for seven years; I no longer need them.
Before my marriage I was a trained nurse, having been graduated from an eastern hospital. I now regard much of the information I acquired at that time as false knowledge.
Last spring our son had a splendid healing over an infected knee. The knee had been skinned while he was playing basket ball, and little attention paid to it. About a week afterwards the young man complained of its being very sore. I tried to work for him in Science, but as it was my first experience with anything of this nature since coming into Science, the old fear of infection, which had been so instilled in my mind during the hospital days, crept in, and my work seemed of no avail. The help of the same practitioner was therefore asked, and very effectively given. In a few days the healing was complete. During this time our son attended school and lived a normal life. This demonstration was most remarkable to me, for I had seen cases where the material symptoms manifested were no worse than in his case and the patient was laid up for weeks.
