So many wonderful and beautiful proofs of healing through Christian Science have come into my home and life since my first healing thirty-four years ago, that I sometimes stand in awe before them all. My own healing was instantaneous and almost unbelievable. I had been a semi-invalid for ten years, suffering from a complication of diseases, including spinal trouble, chronic sick headaches every two weeks, an internal trouble requiring surgery, nervous breakdown, and stomach trouble from which I was slowly starving. That all these ills could and did permanently disappear at once was surely marvelous. Shortly after my healing, my husband was healed in one week of rheumatism of fifteen years' standing. He has also been healed of the tobacco habit, pneumonia, and inflammatory rheumatism. Our children have been healed of scarlet fever, diphtheria, appendicitis, influenza, double pneumonia, and many other afflictions and diseases.
Both my husband and our children, as well as I myself, became members of a local Church of Christ, Scientist, and also of The Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts; and together we attended the dedication of the extension of The Mother Church, which was a great joy to us all. During the time we have been living according to the teachings of Christian Science we have passed through many dark and deep waters, but Christian Science has never failed us. My gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, is unbounded, and cannot be expressed in words.
