The coming of Christian Science was the dawn of a new light to me. My first healing was that of a very tenacious intestinal trouble which caused inactivity. This healing was instantaneous. The healings of chronic sore throat and tonsillitis, together with that of rheumatism followed, and were accomplished through reading the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. I feel that by far the greatest healings I have had were those of love for society and of a habit which carried with it a belief of certain inherited tendencies. These were overcome through the loving and faithful work of a practitioner. With these healings came a great spiritual awakening, which has gradually gone on in my consciousness until I am finding a new heaven and a new earth daily, and learning that there is no limit to the study and application of the truth taught in Christian Science.
My loving gratitude goes out to Mrs. Eddy for her love for mankind and her perseverance towards the light, which enabled her to reveal the seeming mysteries of the Bible and to restore to the world the healing power of Christ. I am also grateful that Mrs. Eddy's wonderful vision gave us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and, later, the Manual to protect the Cause of Christian Science. I am grateful to the practitioners whose loving work has made shorter the way from sense to Soul. I am grateful for our daily spiritual food; for the privilege of class instruction and the spirit of unity taught therein. I am also grateful that I am learning to love God and my fellow-man more.— Hamburg, New York.
