It is with deep gratitude for the blessings which I have received as the result of the study and application of Christian Science that I tell of the following demonstration. Some time ago I was taken ill, and after a few days a large swelling appeared on my cheek. As I did not seem able to overcome the trouble myself, I telephoned to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. That same afternoon I felt very much better; the pain had ceased and the swelling was reduced. Improvement continued rapidly; and what seemed to be so unusual was that the whole process was painless.
The next day, Wednesday morning, I went to work at my business, and I worked hard the succeeding days with no ill after affects. About two weeks later there was a very slight relapse, but I was able to handle this myself promptly. A few days after this I had an attack of influenza on which I set to work with what understanding I had gained of Christian Science. It was overcome completely in two days, and again I was in better health than ever. A similar attack years ago disabled me for two months, and left me in ill health for many months after wards. It is now a year since I had this healing to be thankful for.
About a year ago, during a period of business depression, after much effort in the usual way to do business, which did not produce satisfactory results, I called up a Christian Science practitioner. A very few hours afterwards the depression began to disappear and business calls to come in. Little accounts here and there were collected, some of which were seven months overdue; deals that for some time, for no visible reason, seemed to "hang fire" were completed, and the future outlook in general unfolded with promise; health improved, and it was almost as though one were in a different world. And all this in less than four days' time!
