Gratitude is a spring of joy in my heart for the blessings that have come into my life through the study and application of Christian Science. One healing which I should like to mention in particular, and for which I was especially grateful, was that of poisoning, caused by eating a certain food. Five members of our household were ill at the same time. This sickness was accompanied with a dreadful stupor. In four days three members of the family had recovered sufficiently to be in school. On Wednesday the other member and I rejoiced over what would have seemed to be very serious for one or more of us, but for our slight understanding of Christian Science.
The error seemed to attack me again, and was trying to tell me that I would not be able to get to the telephone to ask for help, when my telephone rang. I took down the receiver and heard the joyous voice of a little child asking me to come down to see her walk. The child expressed so much joy and gratitude for being able to use her legs that I was healed instantaneously.
What was called tuberculosis of the lungs was healed in three treatments given by a faithful and earnest practitioner. Scarlet fever, which I had always feared, came into the home, and was healed quickly without further trouble with the other children. My husband was badly burned on the face, head, and hands, from an explosion of a boiler; his healing was most wonderful and complete. Measles, mumps, and many other ills, too numerous to mention, have also been healed.
