In childhood I was healed by Christian Science of the effects of drinking concentrated lye, after my mother had been told there was no help from material remedies. During the interim, I depended upon the truth for help and was many times healed of serious ailments, yet I accepted the truth more on the basis of belief than of understanding, my thought being more or less dormant. After moving to a larger town where my work called me, and entering upon active work in a branch church, I was awakened to find myself in bondage to self, and I am grateful that gradually thought is being regenerated in some degree. Here I must express my gratitude for the loving, faithful practitioner who during this struggle with error never failed to cheer and uplift with words of Truth.
Recent blessings which have come into my experience were at the time of the passing on of a loved one when I was freed from the horror of death and healed of the sense of separation. The other was when the right arm became helpless, painful, and sore, indicating a bad sprain. I asked for help and the error was uncovered that I had accepted a burden which did not belong to me. With this disclosure freedom became manifest, and the false condition disappeared.
Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church is gratefully accepted as affording wide channels of service. Our dear Leader, as the revelator to this age, as Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, must ever grow in the love and reverence of the multitude who have drunk and are drinking at this fountain.— Iola, Kansas.
