When I first heard of Christian Science my husband, owing to an incipient so-called incurable disease, was no longer able to carry on our business. With our three small children, I saw myself confronted with problems and decisions of an economic and educational nature which from a human point of view seemed too difficult for me. Besides this, I was in delicate health, was irresolute and apprehensive. I suffered from frequent attacks of sciatica and other nervous disorders.
In this great extremity, I placed my whole confidence in Christian Science. To-day I can gratefully testify that it was only Christian Science which saved me from despair and collapse. Through years of hardship I received loving help and faithful instructions from various sources. Through the truth I was healed of many attacks of discouragement and relapses into my old trouble, and was able to fill my place in our business joyously and confidently without any long interruptions. Gradually my financial and domestic affairs were straightened out in a manner which I had never before known or expected. When, later on, I was alone, it was only Christian Science that sustained me.
Since I have learned to know of the healing power of Truth, God has been our only physician. A number of slight illnesses, and two serious cases of diphtheria, have been quickly and surely healed through Christian Science. I have become a healthy and free individual who is endeavoring to live joyously and trustingly in God's ever-presence. I am sincerely grateful for the uplifting and renewing power of Christian Science which I have experienced so beautifully. The wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," given to us by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and showing us the Bible and the stupendous works of our Master in a new and clear light, has become to me a source of rich blessings, for which I cannot be grateful enough.
