As so many others have done, I too should like to tell of what Christian Science has done for me. I did not begin to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy until October, 1919, although I had attended Christian Science services during the summer of that year. It did not occur to me that I could be healed of the physical ills from which I was suffering, until one Wednesday evening, while I was listening to the testimonies, the thought suddenly came to me, Can I too be healed? A friend then offered me a copy of Science and Health and I began to study. Very shortly after this I put away all material remedies and have not taken any since. The next few weeks were not easy, because a certain physical condition was very bad; but I kept steadily on with my study, and one morning in December, while reading the above-mentioned book, I was suddenly healed of liver complaint, which I had had all my life.
Christian Science has shown me that heredity is only a belief, because man is spiritual and perfect, the child of God, divine Love. At the time of this healing I was also suffering from neuritis, and a certain duty which I had to perform in my home was a great trial to me. Through studying the Christian Science periodicals, I learned to be patient and unselfish, and that duty in my home suddenly became a joy. I was so glad to be of use; and I was instantaneously healed of neuritis in 1920, after suffering intense pain for five years. There have been many other healings; and I am more than grateful for the sense of freedom which the study of Christian Science is giving me.
To be connected with the Christian Science movement is a joy and happiness which I cannot express in words, for it is my privilege to be a member of The Mother Church and a branch church, a class student, and a Sunday school teacher. When I think of what our beloved Leader has done for the world my heart overflows with gratitude to one whose writings point the way to home, heaven.— Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.
