I am truly grateful to God and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Christian Science. I am grateful for the understanding our practitioners have of God, so that they may help those who seek the truth.
On January 21, 1928, I fell on the ice, striking my head on the sidewalk. I could not remember enough to talk. Then came a stroke. One half of my body was paralyzed, and I went into a state of coma. No one thought I should live. My brother rushed me to a hospital. I remained in this condition about three weeks. The doctor at the hospital said I could not live; two of the nurses said that if I did pull through my mentality would be greatly impaired.
At this point Christian Science help was requested. In a short time my mind had cleared, and very soon the paralysis disappeared. I walked out of the hospital perfectly healed. I had no medical treatment. I never felt better in my life than I have ever since. My mentality is unusually clear, and I can do anything I could ever do. I am well and happy. One of the nurses said as I was leaving, "Only God healed you."
