Since taking up the study of Christian Science I have had many wonderful demonstrations of the healing power of divine Love. Before I first heard of this beautiful truth I was suffering from a very serious bowel trouble for which I had been operated upon; but the operation was useless, for after twelve months' treatment the doctors informed me the disease was incurable, and that they could do no more for me. I then turned to Christian Science and asked a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. About two months later I was taken very ill again. This time the doctors told me that my lungs were seriously affected, and that I had only a few days to live. I again asked for help from a practitioner, and from that day steadily regained health and happiness.
This happened over four years ago. In order to prove God's healing power to others, some time ago I underwent a medical examination. The doctor informed me that my lungs were perfect; in fact, he said, it was difficult to believe they had ever been otherwise.
I am very grateful indeed for all the blessings I have received through Christian Science, for the help of the practitioner, and for the better understanding of the Bible which I have gained through the study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I am also deeply grateful to our dear Leader for the pure, unselfish life which enabled her to give Christian Science to the world.— New Plymouth, New Zealand.
