It was not on account of physical healing that I became interested in Christian Science. Twenty-one years ago I heard of this Science and tried to close my ears to it. Four years later I was invited to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I accepted and went just out of curiosity. I was so much impressed that I attended regularly. I am indeed grateful to this friend, who opened the way for me.
I received my first healing while reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy; it was of a skin disease on my hands and face. Many demonstrations have been made through the reading of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly as well as through the reading of the authorized literature, such as finding the right .place of employment, finding lost articles, and the overcoming of sick headaches, neuralgia, measles, and chicken pox. A severe burn on the arm was healed in four treatments.
This Science is a wonderful help in the rearing of my two sons, in both their school work and their play. With the aid of a loving practitioner they have been healed of whooping cough and colds. The elder boy was healed of a severe cut on his elbow. While carrying two milk bottles he fell, breaking both bottles. With all the broken glass around there was only one deep cut. The child said there was no pain. After three days there was some fear and the child asked to be taken to a practitioner. It was a trip of twelve miles, and as a wind storm had been blowing for some time, error said we should never be able to keep the car on the road. But we went, declaring the truth. The practitioner gave a treatment at once and the healing began, both mentally and physically.
