Christian Science, explained to the world by Mary Baker Eddy in her inspired textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," is a practical religion founded on the teachings of Christ Jesus. The operations of Truth therein set forth extend throughout the boundless activities of the universe, and are applicable in the solution of every human problem. It establishes an unfailing Principle, available to all humanity.
Christian Science plays so great a part in daily experience as to awaken constant gratitude from those who understand and practice its teachings, and frequently to arouse admiration and inquiry from those who observe its results. Its adherents hourly are demonstrating in the home, in business, and in many other branches of human activity, the power of God as available now, and are consequently realizing happiness, abundance, joy, and peace. Christian Science is the guide to human health and security. It is a wholly spiritual and regenerative influence, not depending at any point on material panaceas.
One of the reasons why this generation is making spiritual progress is that humanity has witnessed the colossal failure of materialism. The struggle between the material belief that would harm and the spiritual thought that would save mankind is moving to inevitable victory for right. The supremacy of good will appear proportionately as the consciousness of the people of the world turns from wrong thinking to right thinking. The numerous inventions of recent years have so enlarged the circle of human contacts that, regardless of personal desires, one is literally thrust into consideration of the whole world; and by his acts of usefulness will he be judged.
