From my early childhood, until years later when our son manifested a severe case of eczema, I had often wondered why the healings of sickness and sin as practiced by the prophets of old and later by Jesus and his devoted followers could not be performed in our day also. I little realized that this blessing was soon to come into our lives through the study and application of Christian Science.
During the seven or eight years the boy was afflicted with this malady, complications had arisen which resulted in kidney trouble, heart trouble, rheumatism, stomach complaint, nervousness, and dropsy. At last infection appeared until there was scarcely a spot, more than a few inches square on his entire body that was not affected. His body was almost encased in bandages.
I had sought the aid of medical practitioners one after another, but none gave any hope of cure and few gave relief. The last one whom we called upon for examination and treatment told me the child was in the last stages of this disease (eczema).
